Sandy Springs Police Officer Janssen Redcay will ride his bicycle 1,129 miles in 10 days to fight child trafficking, starting in Michigan on Oct. 23 and returning to Sandy Springs on Nov. 2.

“I will again put my body, mind, and bike to the test as I ride over 1,100 miles for Zoe International to join them in their effort to fight child trafficking.

Redcay will begin his journey in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, which is on the Canadian border.

A send-off celebration will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. at O’Reilly’s Public House in Sandy Springs at 227 Sandy Springs Place Northeast Suite 416.

Redcay is scheduled to return to Sandy Springs on Saturday, Nov. 2, between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Residents are encouraged to welcome him home.

Redcay’s ride in December 2022 from Austin, Texas to Sandy Springs was part of his commitment that to ZOE International’s upcoming 2023 Race Across America.

The nonprofit has been rescuing and caring for trafficked children and orphans since 2003. It rescues and restores children from child trafficking situations all over the world. The organization uses education, and partnerships, and run restorative homes for the victims. ZOE works with law enforcement, government, and non-government agencies to rescue children.
