Anthem Rotary Club and Sunset Cyclery have partnered to present the 2024 Anthem Bike Drive to benefit children living in the Navajo Nation. These Anthem-based organizations are partnering with NavajoYES, (Youth Empowerment Services), a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that promotes community and youth empowerment in the Navajo Nation.

One of the main programs of NavajoYES is the Diné Bike Project, a reservation-wide initiative to encourage fitness and to promote biking and community wellness. Through its Bike Exchange Program, NavajoYES receives used bikes as donations from generous people and organizations. All kinds of used working bikes are needed, including adult and kids bikes, mountain bikes, gravel bikes, road bikes, and beach cruisers.

A Navajo tribal member can earn a free bike in exchange for completing a good deed, such as baking cookies for the senior center, chopping wood for an elder, pitching in on local trail work, or helping to restore bikes.

Anthem Rotary is asking local Anthem-area residents to donate a used working bike to the program before Saturday, October 26. Donors can drop off bikes at Sunset Cyclery at 42407 North Vision Way, Suite 113, in Anthem. After the inspection, Anthem Rotary volunteers will drive the donated bikes to northern Arizona where NavajoYES volunteers will receive them.
